ARTIST STATEMENT

I am a traditional painter in oil and watercolor. I came of age at the end of the modernist era. My artworks are heartfelt depictions of my mood, driven by music in my studio. While I strive for minimalist abstraction, I find fascination with geometric design and random theory.
 

Bonne Chance Series

 

For each of the Bonne Chance paintings, the color application order is determined by nearly 500 tosses of a coin. This act releases me from the responsibility of color choice and offers me the same sense of surprise that my audience experiences.
